


I have over a decade of teaching experience and a Master's degrees in education with a focus on Reading and Literacy. I am passionate about helping students who struggle with reading. As an Intervention Specialist, I assist students who have been identified as needing additional support through a special education program.


I have a B. A in Psychology, I am a Certified Recovery Support Specialist, Youth & Adult Mental Health Aider, CPR/First Aid. I have been a tutor for 3 years, specifically in topics of Elementary Reading and Math from Pre-K-5th grade, but I can assist with other subjects provided the focus area the assistance is needed. I have also been an after school instructor for cooking and steam classes. I enjoy helping children gain confidence in knowledge to progress in academics and life journey.

I am passionate about personal transformation and leverage strong skills in creative writing, poetry, script writing, and advanced vocabulary to help individuals break free from limiting mindsets and habits. My journey through sales taught me the power of communication and persuasion while my experience in cooking depended my appreciation for discipline and creativity.



I've been working in the field of education for the past seven years, starting when I homeschooled my son for three years, for kindergarten through second grade, then as a reading support paraprofessional working with students from kindergarten through fourth grade for about a year, and then as a special education paraprofessional for seventh and eighth grade students. I'm finishing my Master of Science in Elementary Education and will graduate in May '27. I specialize in teaching ELA.

I taught Chinese-English for ten years at China. I worked for Deer Valley Unified School District for 6 years. I am a 5th grade teacher for 3 years at Peoria Unified School District. I could be a good fit for teaching Mandarin.


Alma Lopez Rucker is a bilingual educator and language specialist fluent in both Spanish and English. A graduate of Texas State University, she has lived and studied internationally, including in Argentina and Germany. Her global experiences, love of language, and strong faith have shaped her passion for teaching, family, and connecting with people across cultures.



I was a part of the Reading Partners Program and was an active 1;1 Third-grader tutor at SF Tenderloin Elementary school focused on reading comprehension. I have reading materials in conducting and assessing reading levels. I have tutored two neighborhood kids who are now in college. One of them is now working for an AI company. I work full time as an Admininstrative Assistant for a senior health care program and would like to have the opportunity to be a 1:1 tutor to a third-grader.
