Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe'll start by talking through your goals and athletic background, then I'll run a casual skills assessment to see where you are with dribbling, shooting, and overall athleticism. From there, we'll cover the basics: athletic stance, triple threat position, stationary ball handling, and close-range form shooting. You'll leave with a clear sense of what we're working toward and a simple at-home drill to start building on!
Lesson 11+At this stage, we’ll cover passing, basic defense, and start applying skills in 1-on-1 game situations. We’ll work on: shooting off the dribble, screens, off-ball movement, and position-specific skills tailored to you. Live reps will challenge you to apply everything under pressure, with ongoing feedback to keep refining your game!
Lesson 4-10This is where things start to look like real basketball! We'll work on dribbling combos (crossovers, two ball work, hesitations), expand your shooting range to the foul line, add catch-and-shoot mechanics, and work on layups with both hands.
Lesson 2-3We will continue to cover the fundamentals, including layer in proper footwork (pivots, jump stops, defensive slides) and progress your ball handling with two-hand and walking drills. We will continue with close, proper form shots until you have it down. The goal here is to lock in the fundamentals you'll build everything else on.

How it works
We'll start with a conversation about your game, your role on your team, and what you want to sharpen or add to your skill set. From there, I'll put you through a series of skill-specific reps (shooting from spots, ball handling combos, finishing, 1-on-1) to identify strengths and areas to target. You'll leave with a clear development plan and a sense of where we're focusing first.
Lesson 11+Now we put it all together under pressure. If you prefer focusing on conditioning and skills, we will continue with that. If you want to move to live 1-on-1 and game reps with scoring, time, and situational constraints, we will do that. We'll also add film review when useful, mental skills work (handling pressure, in-game adjustments), and continue refining the details that separate good players from elite ones. The goal at this stage is translation: turning skill work into real production on the floor!
Lesson 4-10This is where we build out the work from the first three lessons and move into game speed. If you’re looking to improve your outside shooting, we’ll work on shooting off movement and off the dribble (pull-ups, step-backs), quick release, and three pointers. If you are post player and want to work on finishing strong, we’ll work on various post moves and finishing through contact and basic high-rep layups. If you want to focus on decision making, we’ll drill reading defenders in pick-and-roll, isolation, and off-ball situations so your decision-making catches up to your skill level.
Lesson 2-3We'll go deep into the two or three things that you most want to improve, such as shooting mechanics, ball handling, or footwork. Expect high-rep work with immediate feedback. These sessions establish your baseline and set the standard for the work ahead.

Youth players
Working with kidsFor young kids, my lessons are built around fun, fundamentals, and confidence. Sessions move quickly between drills and games to keep energy and engagement high, with plenty of positive reinforcement along the way. We focus on the core building blocks (dribbling, footwork, shooting form, layups) through age-appropriate progressions and creative challenges that feel like play. The goal at this stage is to build a love for the game while developing skills that will carry them through every level to come.

Working with teenagersFor teenagers, my lessons combine serious skill development with the intensity and accountability they'll face at the high school level and beyond. We work at game speed on the skills that matter most for their position and goals, whether that's expanding their scoring package, sharpening decision-making, or building a more complete two-way game. I push players to compete, reflect on their reps, and take ownership of their development, while creating an environment where they feel supported and confident enough to take risks and grow.

About your basketball coach

I still hold my high school's all-time scoring record (boys or girls) with 1,545 career points, and was recruited by multiple D1 programs before committing to Wellesley College, where I averaged 38 minutes, 15 points, and 6 rebounds per game. I later coached a JV girls basketball team for two seasons, turning an 0–20 program into a 12-8 team. With years of private lessons and camps under my belt, every session I run is tailored to the player's goals: serious work, real results, all ages/levels!

Paris Miller
From the lessons that I had it was very easy to see that Coach Becca is a very knowledgeable and driven coach that makes you want to show up and keep improving. She created an environment that pushed me and my skills but also allowed me to enjoy the process of getting better. She genuinely cares about the athletes’ success and is committed to player development in all ways.
Ryan Miller
Coach Becca was a great basketball coach! She taught me important skills that helped me on and off the court. I learned how to play good defense from her coaching because she is tough, hard-working, and gritty. Playing against her was like playing against a brick wall. She helped me sharpen my ball handling skills and my post-up moves. She teaches will-power and the ability to never give-up. I think choosing Coach Becca as your coach is a great decision because not only of her toughness, but also because of her high IQ knowledge of the sport.
Kayden Coddens
I had the opportunity to watch Becca coach my middle school son, Kayden. One of her greatest strengths was the ability to identify athletes who were willing to work hard and then help them grow both athletically and personally. Becca did an excellent job motivating young athletes, building confidence, and creating an environment where effort, accountability, and teamwork mattered. She consistently encouraged athletes to push themselves while still feeling supported. Becca remained concerned and committed to supporting my son and other athletes even after leaving our city. I would highly recommend Becca to anyone looking for a coach who knows how to develop, motivate, and inspire young athletes.
