Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst lesson will be used to observe strength and weakness of players. I will put them through finishing, shooting, and dribbling drills. The most important thing I will pay attention to is the players skill with their weak hand. I want to use our first lesson to establish the right intensity necessary to develop.
Lesson 11+Remaining lessons will consists off building what we worked on and applying more difficulty. Basketball is about perfecting your craft. And perfection is achieved through repetition. I like to add fun challenges so players stay constantly engaged
Lesson 4-10Onward from the first few lessons we will begin to implement training with pads to add difficulty to our finishing drills. We will also use tennis balls for stationary dribbling drills.
Lesson 2-3Following lessons we will continue to add difficulty to our lessons. For example I will have my players go from one ball dribbling to two ball simultaneous dribbling. I’ll also add different footwork to finishing drills like performing a euro step or hop step finish.
