Beginner training plan
Your first lessonA small discussion on the goals that the student would like to achieve followed by a quick movement assessment and then a simple yet effective warm-up that will be utilized throughout every lesson in order to maximize time spent together. Depending on the style of dance, either some barre work basics and going into the center if we’re doing ballet or staying in the center and breaking down the basics of jazz/contemporary before finishing with a fun little combination!
Lesson 11+The remaining lessons will continue to build upon the previous classes and then focus more on performance, personal style and even improvisation if that’s what the students desire. We will make the combinations more intermediate by adding layers(arms + footwork) and performance elements like facial expressions and energy shifts. Videos will be taken of each combination that we learn(at the student’s discretion) and can be used to track progress as well as to share if the student desires!
Lesson 4-10The focus on these lessons will be on learning longer combinations, refining skills and timing. We will incorporate different movement qualities as well as directional changes and more advanced footwork patterns.
Lesson 2-3Very similar to the first lesson -minus the chat and assessment. We will warm-up and review/practice what we did the previous class but then begin to build upon the vocabulary of knowledge. It takes a lot of repetition, even for more advanced students. These lessons will also focus on understanding beat & tempo and basic body isolations with a goal of breaking mental/physical barriers, instilling joy and self-belief.
