Your first lessonOur first lesson will be getting to know what interests you have in music and what you want to take away from our lessons on the drumset. The following are potential paths taken after the student indicates their goals.
- How to properly hold your sticks involving the introduction of the drumsticks balance point the fulcrum.
-How to set yourself up behind the drum kit including heights of different drums, and explanations of variety of cymbals.
-Your first drum groove!
Lesson 11+-Learning different grooves and styles.
-Working on a students song of choice as a 2 week project, and being able to play it from start to finish!
Lesson 4-10-Introduction of rudiments.
-Differentiation of playing time and using fills around the kit.
Lesson 2-3We will further narrow down the path of the student and hone in on their favorite style of music as a primary focus.
-How to utilize rebound.
-Introduction of reading rhythm
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonFor advanced students, the initial lesson will be time split in half. The first half will be a get to know you and discussion to observe what the student wants to get out of their lesson time with me, and what direction they want to pursue with their instrument. Secondly, we will play through various styles, and also different rudiments to see where strengths and weaknesses are.
