Hello, my name is Carsen Johnson. With five years of coaching experience as both a Defensive Backs and Wide Recievers coach, I am passionate to help athletes develop the skills, confidence, and football IQ needed to succeed on the field. Blessed to be a part of the National Coaching Academy class of 2026 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, I look forward to helping athletes take their game to the top level.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonOur first lesson will be directed toward stance and first steps. We will talk through and learn what a proper stance and proper first steps look like on the offensive or defensive side.
Lesson 2-3As we move past the first steps, here we will learn simple coverage techniques for cover 1, cover 2, and cover 3. Offensively we will learn simple route concepts and different techniques for different cuts and routes.
Lesson 4-10As we move through to more intermediate lessons, defensively we will run through drills for off-man coverage and press-man coverage. We will also go through ball tracking and attacking the catch point. Offensively, we will work through reading the defense and being able to run our routes tailored to what the defense is giving us.
