Football with Ridge Turner

Ridge Turner is a former standout quarterback and defensive back who brings a wealth of playing experience and passion for mentoring young athletes. A 2009 graduate of South Plaquemines High School, Ridge led the Hurricanes to back-to-back state championships under Coach Cyril Crutchfield. He finished his high school career ranked 7th all-time nationally in total offense (12,751 yards), with 175 career touchdowns, earning Class 1A All-State Offensive MVP honors. After high school, Ridge continued his football career at Northwestern State, Mississippi Delta Community College, and Jackson State University. During his collegiate career, he showcased his versatility, contributing as a return specialist, defensive back, and playmaker on both sides of the ball. Ridge’s journey through championship high school football and collegiate competition has shaped his philosophy as a coach and mentor. He understands the discipline, work ethic, and resilience it takes to succeed both on and off the field. Today, he channels that knowledge into coaching youth football, training athletes, and mentoring young people to reach their full potential. More than just teaching X’s and O’s, Ridge focuses on developing character, leadership, and life skills in the athletes he works with. His mission is to help the next generation of athletes build confidence, stay disciplined, and learn the value of teamwork, while preparing them for success in sports and life.
