Beginner training plan

Your first lessonI start by getting to know the student’s goals and experience level, then introduce the basics: grip, stance, posture, and aim. We do a few light drills to build confidence and work toward making consistent contact with the ball. The first lesson is all about comfort and fun — no pressure.

Lesson 11+At this stage, we fine-tune technique, add course management skills, and focus on the student’s specific goals — whether it’s playing 9 holes, improving distance, or working on the mental game. Each session becomes more personalized, with feedback and structure to help them play confidently on their own.

Lesson 4-10These sessions develop confidence and control with different clubs — from short irons to driver. We also introduce shot shaping, distance control, and more structured practice routines. If appropriate, we’ll work on short game basics (chipping and putting at a pitch & putt course). The goal is to create a strong foundation and build a reliable swing.

Lesson 2-3We begin building a repeatable swing, focusing on takeaway and rhythm. I introduce simple drills to improve body rotation, weight transfer, and balance. Students can expect to see more consistent ball contact and start hitting straighter shots.

Advanced training plan

Your first lessonI start with a quick swing evaluation and discuss the student’s goals — whether it’s distance, control, or shot shaping. We’ll review key swing metrics and ball flight, then focus on one or two adjustments to improve consistency without overwhelming the student.

How it works

Lesson 11+Ongoing sessions are tailored to the student’s goals: breaking 90, prepping for tournaments, mastering the short game, or simply fine-tuning performance. Lessons may rotate between technique, mental focus, pressure drills, and on-course simulations (when available). The goal is long-term confidence and consistent play.

Lesson 4-10We go deeper into mechanics — swing plane, impact position, rotation, and efficiency. Short game and course strategy may be introduced, especially for students looking to lower scores or prepare for competition. At this stage, video feedback or data from a simulator (if applicable) can be used for more precision.

Lesson 2-3These lessons focus on refining fundamentals like tempo, weight transfer, and club path. Depending on the student’s focus, we may work on controlling ball flight, eliminating a slice or hook, or dialing in a specific club like driver or wedges.

Youth players

Working with teenagersWhen I coach teens, I keep things focused but relaxed. We work on improving their swing and overall fundamentals, but I also make sure the lessons stay fun and engaging. Depending on their goals, I’ll introduce challenges, mini-games, or even competition-style drills to keep them motivated. If they’re serious about improving, I can help set up simple practice routines they can follow between lessons. The goal is to help them enjoy the game, build confidence, and feel good about their progress — whether they’re playing casually or thinking about competing someday.

What you need to bringStudents should bring their own clubs if they have them. If you’re just starting out and don’t have clubs, I can bring a basic right-handed set — please let me know before the lesson. Note: Range balls are not included in the lesson price and must be purchased at the driving range.
