Basic putting and chipping strokes for most of the lesson. I want the player to feel more comfortable around the green. Near the end I will take a look at a few swings and give them 1 or maybe 2 things to try and focus on for lesson 2. Lesson one could be done at a course or a driving range as long as there is a putting green.
By this point the player and I would have some sort of relationship and I would kind of leave it up to them to tell me what they really need help with, whether it be putting, wedges, irons, driving, or just trying to put everything together on the course, I would work with the player to improve whatever they need help improving. If it's a problem with putting everything together on the course, I would have the player book a tee time and I would tag along as a caddie and figure out what the problem is and give them tips as we go as well as things to work on when the round is over.
I would also start these lessons on and around the green just for a short maybe 5 minute warmed up. After that, we would go to the range starting with wedges and irons just to get the swing warmed up, then focus a little more on most beginners big problem, the driver. At this point though, it depends on what the player needs help with, if they are hitting their driver solid but their wedges or irons are not doing so hot, we could focus more on figuring out what is going wrong there and I would work to fix the issue.
We will start on and around the green again, getting warmed up but not for too long. Then I'll talk about the 1 or 2 fixes i wanted to see in the swing and hopefully see some improvement. These lessons would work better at a driving range so I could see how the player is striking the ball, mainly focusing on wedges and irons.
