Golf with Coach Ryan Curry

My journey with golf has been anything but conventional, beginning with my childhood days on the course and taking a hiatus during my pursuit of becoming a professional skateboarder. However, life has a funny way of bringing us back to our roots, and after a 15-year break from golf, I found myself drawn back to the sport that had captured my heart as a kid. Returning to the game, I discovered a profound connection between skateboarding and golf. Both sports require an individual's unwavering commitment and determination to improve, relying solely on oneself to develop the necessary skills and resilience. My reintroduction to golf occurred on a short par 3 course in Vancouver's muddy, wet conditions. Despite the less-than-ideal circumstances, I found myself drawn to the challenge and allure of the game once again. Spending countless hours chipping and honing my short game, I discovered a newfound appreciation for the artistry and precision required to execute those shots that leave you in awe. Today, golf has become more than just a game for me—it's a passion, an art form, and a constant source of inspiration. Whether on the course or reflecting on the parallels between golf and skateboarding, I am continually amazed by the beauty and complexity of the game.
