Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWell I’m going to see where you’re at and decide what would be helpful to start you off on. The first things I would teach would be the note names and some basic chord shapes used in many songs.
Lesson 11+I want to show you various techniques that the greats use. Hammer ons, pull offs, bending and vibrato. Once you’ve mastered these I can show more advanced techniques such as tapping.
Lesson 4-10By this point I would like to teach some basic scales such as the minor pentatonic, and how to apply it in a creative way.
Lesson 2-3I would like to show you power chords that can be moved anywhere on the guitar neck and how to play some iconic riffs using them.
What you need to bringJust bring your guitar. You are welcome to bring an amp or pedals or anything else you feel like, but all that is necessary is your guitar!
