Your first lessonFocus: Holding guitar, tuning, pick grip, Em chord, down-strums only.
Practice: 5 min tuning + 10 min Em changes + 10 min down-strums on beat.
Song start: “Horse with No Name” (just Em).
Goal: Clean Em chord ringing.
Lesson 11+Focus: Record yourself + fix timing/mistakes.
Practice: Choose 3 favorite songs from the course and perfect them.
Goal: Play a mini “set” for friends/family.
Focus: Full review of all chords/scales + minor pentatonic scale intro.
Practice: Play everything from memory.
Song: Pick your “graduation song” (anything you love).
Goal: Confident player ready for more!
Lesson 4-10Focus: 8th-note strumming (down-up-down-up), metronome at 60–80 bpm.
Practice: All previous chords with new patterns.
Song: “Stand By Me” or “Wonderwall” (capo 2 if needed).
Goal: Play in time without rushing.
Focus: Am, Dm + full minor/major mixes.
Practice: Em-Am-Dm-C progressions.
Song: “Zombie” (Em-C-G-D) or simplified “Let It Be”.
Goal: Confident 4-chord changes.
Focus: Faster switches, knowing string names & notes on 6th/5th strings.
Practice: 1-minute chord change drills.
Song: Polish 2 songs from previous weeks.
Goal: Play without looking at hands much.
Focus: C major scale (open position) + alternate picking.
Practice: Play scale up & down slowly, then simple melodies.
Song: Any from before + one easy melody line.
Goal: Understand how notes connect.
Focus: E5, A5, D5 power chords (easy & sound huge).
Practice: Move shapes up/down neck.
Song: “Smoke on the Water” or “Seven Nation Army”.
Goal: Rock out!
Lesson 9: Intro to Barre Chords
Focus: Mini F chord + movable shapes.
Practice: F, B♭, C using barre technique (build finger strength).
Song: Simple song using F (e.g. “Twist and Shout” riff).
Goal: First barre chord clean.
Focus: Thumb + 1st/2nd finger pattern (p-i-m).
Practice: Simple arpeggios on open chords.
Song: “Blackbird” (simplified) or “Dust in the Wind” intro.
Goal: Play without pick.
