Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI start by breaking the ice and figuring out where they’re at—what DAW they use, what kind of music they want to make, and what they already know. We set up their session together, cover basic gain staging, routing, and plugin use. The goal is to get them comfortable inside their environment and leave with one or two sounds or loops they’re proud of.
Lesson 11+By now, they’re building full tracks start-to-finish. We focus on mastering mindset—critical listening, finishing projects, and developing their signature sound. I tailor lessons to their goals: whether that’s preparing releases, building sample packs, or learning hybrid mixing with analog gear.
Lesson 4-10This is where the real refinement starts. We dive into arrangement, depth, automation, and how to make a mix breathe. They’ll learn balance, referencing, and how to spot frequency conflicts. I start introducing creative processing—saturation, stereo width, spatial effects—so their tracks start sounding polished.
Lesson 2-3We start shaping workflow—tracking, basic EQ and compression, layering synths or instruments. I show them how to organize sessions and make decisions fast without getting stuck. These lessons are about getting hands-on and learning to translate ideas into sound with clarity.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonI assess their workflow, speed, decision-making, and consistency. We dive straight into a real session—mixing, arrangement fix-ups, or sound design, so I can see their strengths and gaps. No hand-holding. We set goals based on where they want to push their craft next.
Lesson 11+We work like peers. Full track completion, signature-sound building, mastering polish, client-ready quality, and speed under pressure. They develop a repeatable high-level process and learn to self-critique like an engineer. This stage is all refinement, intention, and leveling up their identity as an artist or producer.
Lesson 4-10We expand their toolkit. Hybrid workflows, advanced EQ shapes, parallel routing, spectral sculpting, spatial design, and mastering fundamentals. They start taking on bigger projects—complex arrangements, dense mixes, or multi-genre sessions—and I coach them on delivering pro-level clarity and emotional impact.
Lesson 2-3We sharpen technique. This means tighter gain structure, smarter routing, deeper automation, and cleaner problem-solving. I push them into faster, more intentional decisions. We refine tonal balance, dynamics control, and creative processing so their mixes and productions hit with purpose.
Youth players
Working with kidsI keep it simple, fun, and structured. With kids, I focus on short, hands-on activities that spark curiosity—basic rhythms, simple melodies, playful sound design, and easy recording tasks. I move at their pace, celebrate progress fast, and keep instructions clear and bite-sized. The goal is to help them explore music without overwhelm, build confidence through small wins, and gently introduce real skills in a way that feels like discovery, not pressure.
Working with teenagersI meet teens where they’re at—interested, opinionated, and ready to create. I give them real tools and real responsibility: building beats, crafting ideas, learning the tech, and shaping their own sound. I keep things direct and honest while still giving them space to experiment and express themselves. The focus is on skill-building, confidence, and channeling their energy into something they can be proud of, whether that’s a full track, a mix, or a performance-ready idea.
