Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI like to speak with the student first about what their pickleball goals are and construct a plan to get them to where they want. A first lesson with a beginner will usually consist of learning the rules as well as basic shots like the serve, return of serve and third shot.
Lesson 11+Lessons 11+ will likely delve into more advanced shots like resets and counters as well as some basic strategy and point play/competitive drills. This will prepare and give confidence to a beginning student looking to get into competitive play.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4-10 will consist of repetition of correct technique of shots already learned with emphasis on footwork and preparation to hit these shots.
Lesson 2-32nd and 3rd lessons will most likely consist of introducing dinks and volleys as well as reinforcing the shots learned from the first lesson. Positioning will likely be addressed.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonFirst lesson with advanced players will discuss where they are at now and what they wish to focus on and where they want to be. This lesson will most likely consist of working on just one or two points that the student wishes to focus on the most. Usually something like fast hands at the net, transition play or third shots.
Lesson 11+Lessons 11+ will consist of rounding out the students weaknesses as well as improving upon their strengths in order to build consistent winning patterns in game.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4-10 will consist of competitive drills to reinforce techniques learned with pressure of keeping score.
Lesson 2-3Next lessons will reemphasize the techniques learned to improve confidence in a certain shot/pattern.

Youth players
Working with kidsLessons with younger kids will likely involve fun drills to keep them interested but also working on relevant skills.

Working with teenagersLessons with teenagers will likely have a focus on what they wish to achieve with the sport such as competing in tournaments or more casual recreational play.

Janice
Coach Chris was my tennis coach and willingly took up pickleball due to my interest in learning to play. I've been working with coach Chris in pickleball for the past year and a half and he has taken me from a complete beginner to a 4.0+ player in the senior division. Whatever I have wished to learn in pickleball, Chris has been more than happy to help me with. What I love about Chris is that he is always learning about the game and improving his own game as well as expanding the skill set of his students. I would highly recommend him as he is an extremely caring and capable teacher!
Nathan T
Working with Chris has been illuminating. Chris has changed my whole approach to shot selection. Before I started working with Chris, I sped up most balls. I come from a tennis background and found that my drives and speedups was working because I was playing lower level players. As I played better players, that stopped working and Chris showed me how to pick the right shots at the right time. We developed my resets, dinks and drops and now I have a better understanding of which shots to pick and why. It's been such a joy to put in the work with Chris and I feel like the sky is the limit.
David N
When I came to Chris, I felt like my dinks were solid for a 4.0 level but he showed me how much more depth there is in dinking and net play in general. Chris showed me that my dinks were lacking a lot of pressure and he was able to help me add pressure through spin and placement. Now my dinks earn me a lot more popups and defensive shots from my opponents. My favorite thing about working with Chris is how he explains things so clearly no matter what question I may present. Chris always has an explanation to why something works and why something might not work.
Rachel
Working with coach Chris has improved my game tremendously! When I started lessons, I had no idea what to do on my third shots and coach Chris was able to help me identify what to look for and how to approach my thirds. He helped refine my technique with my third shot drops, drips and drives and now I have a clear game plan of how to use them.
Lucas N
Coach helped me so much with my serves and returns! I primarily play singles and coach really emphasized at the start how those two shots shape the whole point in singles. I'm able to create easier thirds for myself and make my opponent's thirds harder through deeper and more intentional returns.
Michael N
I'm a 4.0 player who started working with coach Chris to improve my transition game. My resets have to improved so much and Chris showed me how to look for spots to attack from transition as well rather than just trying to reset every ball. This has been a great help in my rec play as well as tournaments. I will definitely be back with coach Chris to work on other aspects of my game!
