I can’t say enough good things about Mark. I started playing pickleball as a 3.0-3.5 with a tennis background. Working with him in pickleball has been so good. He’s brought me to a 3.5-4.0 player and still improving. He’s such a personable guy that listens and watches what you need. He asks what I think I need to work on and what he observes and see what I need. He’s been such an integral part of my pickleball game thus far. I can’t recommend him enough.

Beginner training plan

Your first lessonGo over the fundamentals of pickleball. The three main zones of the court and each shot hit in them: ready position, dinks, volleys, ground strokes, and serves. Game scoring and positioning.

Lesson 11+Evaluation if ready to pursue intermediate training plan.

Lesson 4-10Each lesson focus on certain shots based on player. Get into drives, third-shot, fifth-shot drops, lobs, and overheads.

Lesson 2-3Focus on the most important zone, the kitchen, and how to transition to it from the baseline. Serving an returning. Serve and stay. Return and run. Strategy.

Advanced training plan

Your first lessonGo over the fundamentals of pickleball ensuring they're doing everything right. Cover the three main zones of the court and each shot hit in them: ready position, dinks, volleys, ground strokes, and serves. Strategy and positioning.

Lesson 11+Rating level examination. Games and tournament play. Repeat of above.

Lesson 4-10Figuring out strengths and weaknesses and how they will be utilized against certain opponents. Tournament play and strategy. Mental game. Court positioning and specific shoots to hit based on where on the court. The four volleys, punch, block, flick, and roll. Different types of serves, drops, and drinks. Singles and doubles strategy.

Lesson 2-3Drives, drops, third-shot, fifth-shot drops. When to serve and stay and return and run. Different types of spin and when to use them. Strategy and court positioning for singles and doubles play.

What you need to bringGood pair of tennis shoes. You don't even need to bring a paddle. I have you covered and can even recommend one if you're looking to get one. In sweater weather, bring a sweater; if it rains, bring a coat. I'm joking. We don't play in the rain, of course.😉
