I recently took a pickleball lesson with Michael and it was a great experience! Michael is very knowledgeable, patient, and enthusiastic, making the session both fun and productive. Oh, the lesson with Michael was quite thoughtful, especially with good tips on strategy and some nice drills volleying at the net and with backhand. Working with kidsI've always enjoyed working with kids and giving them lots of encouragement to help them reach their goals. In the past I have worked as a teacher's assistant in a special education class, worked as a camp counselor, coached youth soccer, and helped take care of my nieces and nephews. It's always great to see kids learn and develop new skills while having fun!

Working with teenagersI played on several club and high school soccer teams in my teenage years. I played for a lot of coaches and learned different teaching styles. For me, the best coaches were always the ones who were kind, patient and collaborative with their players. This is the approach I take coaching teenagers to help them with their competitive goals!

I started playing pickleball a few years ago and I play several times a week in advanced level open play and ladder sessions. I’ve learned a lot about what it takes to go from not knowing how to play to being a solid pickup player who can play in intermediate and advanced games. I still know exactly what it’s like to be a brand new beginner and trying to figure out the game especially all the rules. My coaching style is easygoing and I try to keep the lessons light hearted so everyone feels welcome and comfortable. I like to use a mix of drills and gameplay with real time instruction and feedback during my lessons. A group of 3 or 4 students makes for a great class because I can play a doubles game with you while teaching you how the game works. I can also advise you on equipment, where to play, what apps to download to find games and leagues, etc. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
