Beginner training plan
Your first lesson start by making sure you’re comfortable with the basics — how to hold the paddle, court layout, rules of the game, and proper serving technique. We’ll also do some simple rallying drills like forehand and backhand groundstrokes so you can start getting a feel for control and consistency.
Lesson 11+Lessons 11+
Once the basics feel solid, we’ll work on more advanced skills:
• Third shot drops and drives
• Setting up and finishing points
• Defensive resets when under pressure
• Building confidence in competitive play
At this level, lessons are customized to your personal goals — whether that’s improving for rec play, competing in tournaments, or just having more fun with friends while steadily improving.
Lesson 4-10Here we’ll sharpen your skills and introduce strategy:
• Consistency in serves, returns, and dinks
• Understanding shot selection (when to drop, drive, or lob)
• Footwork and positioning with doubles play
• Transitioning from baseline to the kitchen line
By this stage, you’ll notice you’re rallying longer, making fewer errors, and starting to think about strategy instead of just getting the ball over the net.
Lesson 2-3We’ll build on the fundamentals by focusing on dinking at the kitchen line, returning serves, and keeping the ball in play. These sessions will include drills like cross-court dinks and drop-shot practice, plus some light gameplay so you can start applying skills in a real point.
