Beginner training plan

Your first lessonMy coaching philosophy mirrors my classroom teaching: start with the fundamentals, build confidence, and progress at the player’s individual pace. Each session is tailored to the player’s needs and learning style, ensuring steady growth in both technical ability and game intelligence. Building the Foundation (Beginners) • Dribbling & Ball Mastery – control, close touches, and confidence with the ball

Lesson 11+ • Improve decision making in games • Defensive principles: pressure, cover, and balance • Transition play (attack to defense, defense to attack)

Lesson 4-10 • Passing & Receiving – proper technique for short passes and first touch • Finishing & Defending Basics – shooting technique and basic defensive stance

Lesson 2-3 • Forward Moves & Creativity – simple 1v1 skills to beat an opponent • Turning & Screening – using body positioning to protect the ball

Advanced training plan

Your first lesson 📌 Progression: Players move forward step by step at their own speed of learning. This ensures strong fundamentals, consistent improvement, and readiness for higher levels of competition. Tactical drills: positioning, spacing, and reading the game • High-intensity fitness & SAQ (speed, agility, quickness) work

Youth players

Working with kids• Main Goal: Develop love for the game + solid technical base • Style: Games-based learning, fun, repetition, encouragement • Focus Areas: • Ball mastery (touches, comfort, creativity) • Basic passing, shooting, defending principles • Learning teamwork & fair play • Building confidence through success in small-sided games • Approach: Keep sessions playful, lots of touches on the ball, encourage creativity and risk-taking. Mistakes = learning opportunities.

Working with teenagers • Main Goal: Prepare for competitive soccer, higher intensity, and tactical awareness • Style: Professional standards, higher expectations, more structure • Focus Areas: • Advanced technical skills under pressure • Tactical understanding (roles, formations, transition play) • Physical development (strength, agility, endurance) • Mental training: resilience, discipline, handling pressure • Approach: Push players to think, act, and train like athletes preparing for high school varsity, academy, or college soccer. Sessions become more intense and less “play-like,” with a strong focus on decision-making, speed of play, and accountability.
