Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI will start with a quick introduction and a relaxed conversation. The goal is to make you feel comfortable—no pressure, just getting familiar with the environment. 2. Dynamic Warm-Up (10–15 min) Light jogging, movement exercises, and coordination work to get your body ready. This helps prevent injury and builds basic athletic habits. 3. Ball Familiarity (15–20 min) This is where beginners really start: Dribbling with both feet Simple control touches Getting comfortable with the ball at your feet 4. Basic Skills Training (15–20 min) You’ll work on: Passing technique First touch Simple movement with the ball Nothing complicated—just building a solid foundation. 5. Fun Game or Challenge (10–15 min) A small game or activity to apply what you learned. This keeps things enjoyable and helps learning stick. 6. Wrap-Up & Feedback (5 min) You’ll get simple, positive feedback and maybe 1–2 things to practice on your own.
Lesson 11+ Advanced Ball Mastery Warm-Up (10 min) Tight control in small spaces Quick touches with head up Decision built into every movement 2. Possession & Awareness (Rondos) (15 min) Quick passing under pressure Learning to scan before receiving Playing one- and two-touch 3. Decision-Making Under Pressure (15–20 min) Small-area games with limited time Choosing the right option quickly Emphasis on composure, not rushing 4. Game Impact Scenarios (15–20 min) Creating chances vs keeping possession When to speed up vs slow down play Supporting teammates off the ball 5. Competitive Game (10–15 min) Free play with coaching moments Encouraging communication and leadership
Lesson 4-10Focus: Making better decisions with pressure nearby What they’ll do: Ball mastery warm-up (faster touches, more control) 1v1 attacking & defending – when to go, when to protect the ball Shielding & turning – keeping possession under pressure Quick decision drills – limited time/space to act Small-sided games (3v3 / 4v4) – more realistic pressure What they’ll start to develop: Confidence in tight spaces Understanding of timing (when to pass, dribble, or turn) Composure instead of rushing decisions
Lesson 2-3cus: Comfort on the ball + simple decision-making What they’ll do: Warm-up with the ball – more touches, less standing around Dribbling with purpose – change of direction, using both feet Passing & moving – pass and don’t stand still (introducing movement after the pass) Basic decision-making – when to dribble vs pass Fun competitive activity – small challenges to build confidence What they’ll start to feel: More comfortable controlling the ball Beginning to understand spacing and movement Growing confidence to try things without fear

Great first session! Winston made a great impression on both my son and me. He took the time to really evaluate my son thoroughly, and it was clear right away that he knows how to identify both strengths and the areas that need improvement. What I appreciated most was how engaged and thoughtful he was throughout the session. Winston gave immediate feedback and clear corrections in a way that was easy to understand, and he always explained why each adjustment mattered. That made a big difference, because it helped my son not only hear the correction, but actually learn from it. He was encouraging, patient, and very clear in his teaching, which created such a positive and productive first experience. By the end of the session, Winston also gave us a detailed plan of what my son should focus on before the next training, which really showed his professionalism and genuine investment in helping him improve. We left the session feeling very impressed and excited and looking forward to our next session.
Christine & Kevin Ranford, Parents of Alec Ranford
Our son Alec participates in Golden Touch’s developmental classes. He enjoys going each week and has improved dramatically since first starting. Coach Winston and his staff truly want to see the kids succeed; he’ll often stop practice and remind the players what they should be focusing on. Proper skill development is his first priority. When Coach Winston speaks, it’s in a genuine way, and in a way that makes my son want to improve so that one day he will reach the level of soccer expertise of the other talented players on Golden Touch United.

Biggest soccer influences and why? My club soccer coach Winston Buddle. He’s been my coach since seventh grade, and he has taught me how to play and understand the game at a higher level. Coach Winston incorporated his own professional experiences as a player) on and off the pitch when teaching our team over the years. When Winston first started coaching me, I was relatively good technically, but he developed my tactical game and understanding of the game as a whole and has turned me into the player I am today.
Dad Raimondo
My son just had his first session with Winston and we’re already so impressed. You can tell right away he has deep experience in youth soccer. It’s not just about the drills; he really focuses on the kid's confidence and mindset from minute one. Looking forward to seeing where this goes!
Dad Marlon
Great coach. Within a few minutes he noted strengths and also weaknesses that were easily overlooked. After a few pointers, there was marked improvement, and this was just one session. Looking forward to follow up sessions
