About your swimming coach

I'm a lifelong competitive swimmer with over 17 years in the sport, including time on the US National Jr. Team, Olympic Trials Qualified in four events, and a world ranked athlete. After competing at the highest levels, I transitioned into coaching, where I have spent over a decade of teaching all ages and skill levels. I have a genuine passion for the sport and enjoy helping others to reach their goals, whether it be learning to swim for the first time, or to become an Olympic gold medalist.

Your first lessonFirst and foremost, I want the swimmer to be comfortable in and around the water. I spend some time getting a feel of each person's comfort level in the pool. I also go over some basic movements with the hands, feet, and face to help maneuver easily in the water with little effort.
Lesson 2-3A beginning level swimmer can expect to be comfortable in the water. They will be able to hold their breath under water, learn to flutter kick, and cross the pool with assistance from me, as well as some swimming equipment like a kick board.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4-10 the swimmer will learn some basic drills and techniques to begin to developed each of the four strokes. (Freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) Freestyle will be the main stroke i concentrate on.
Lesson 11+Depending on the progress of each person, remaining lessons can consist of learning flipturns, how to dive into the water correctly, and develope each of the four strokes.

Brian was an amazing instructor! I am 36 years old and have never learned to swim. I was a bit nervous for my first lesson, but Brian made me feel very comfortable from the very start. I am thrilled to say that I am only on my 5th lesson and can now cross the pool and swim by myself. I am looking forward to learning more from Brian!

Brian was a great find. He taught my two children, ages 11 and 9. They had a great time with Brian, and learned very quickly. I did not expect them to be swimming Freestyle by their 4th lesson. Now both of my children can swim Freestyle and backstroke and continue to learn the other strokes. I definitely recommend Brian to anyone wanting to learn how to swim.
