Beginner training plan
Your first lessonCoaching Approach with Beginners:
In my first lesson with new players, I focus on building strong fundamentals. I introduce the correct way to hold the racket through various grip techniques, teach proper stances for balance and readiness, explain the importance of the contact point between racket and ball, and guide players on court targets to develop precision and control from the start.
Lesson 11+Players are expected to rally consistently, understand basic tactics, and begin playing matches or point-based games with structure and confidence.
Lesson 4-10Progress into extended rallying with me, emphasizing shot consistency and keeping a set number of balls in play. Add net play through volleys and overheads, and introduce serves to build a complete foundation in all areas of the game.
Lesson 2-3Second Lesson: Reinforce fundamentals with more dynamic drills. Players practice grips and stances under movement, aiming for consistent contact and placement while rallying at a slow pace.
• Third Lesson: Build difficulty by adding controlled rallies, directional hitting, and target-based games. This helps players develop consistency, accuracy, and confidence while maintaining proper technique.
