About your tennis coach
Hey all! I am newly registered with the RSPA but with about 5 years of tennis coaching experience, in addition to over 20 years playing - most of that competitively. I particularly work with adult beginners and intermediates who are looking to develop or push their skills in a way that can help you be a tennis player for life. I place a big emphasis on having fun while you build your talents, while also balancing the need to take care of your body

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFor beginners, our first lesson will be spent covering basic tennis skills. By the end of the lesson you’ll feel confident making contact with the ball for both forehands and backhands
Lesson 2-3We will continue to build on groundstrokes, and will begin to explore volleying here. There will be some basic drills and movement exercises, and we’ll end with some fun games to put what you’ve learned to the test
Lesson 4-10In these lessons, you’ll feel confident hitting the ball from the baseline, approaching the net for volleys, and serving. Drills will incorporate more movement, and we will start point play at the end of each lesson to help with incorporating each skill together.
Lesson 11+As we continue, you will feel more and more confident with rallying, aiming the ball, and hitting with various types of spin. Drills are more likely to simulate match play, and tactics will start to become a bigger focus. By this point, you’ll be winning points off of me at the end of each lesson!
What you need to bringA racquet, a good pair of tennis shoes/ sneakers, and plenty of water
What I can bringI’ll have tennis balls and any relevant training equipment needed (cones, lines, etc)
