Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIn the first lesson, I focus on building trust and making the player feel comfortable on court. I assess coordination, grip, swing path, and movement using simple rally-based games, shadow swings, and drop-hit forehands. The goal is to keep it fun while introducing the basics of tennis in a pressure-free way.
Lesson 11+At this stage, the player is rallying with purpose and beginning to play full points. We dive deeper into strategy, court positioning, and consistency under pressure. Lessons become more tailored to the player’s goals—whether it’s competition, fitness, or just improvement. I continue to reinforce technique while pushing overall development and confidence.
Lesson 4-10By now we’re developing more structured strokes and movement. We work on serve progressions, directional hitting, point play patterns, and recovery steps. I also begin light scoring drills and introduce rally-based fitness. The goal here is to build a complete foundation of technique and game awareness.
Lesson 2-3We start building consistency with forehands, backhands, and basic volleys through rally games, drop feeds, and basket drills. I introduce the ready position, split step, and footwork patterns. These sessions focus on rhythm, contact point, and developing confidence with live ball hitting.
