The first lesson with a beginner is understanding what they already know about tennis, whether it’s knowledge of the game or how they hold their grip - I want to know it all and see what they’ve got on the court. Then, we talk about goals and what the student wants to achieve. Together, we can make a plan moving forward for the next lessons.
We always have to master the basics. Lessons will always differ depending on what needs to be worked on - this will mean, a mix of hand-fed balls for corrections, movement drills to focus on footwork, or hitting practice for consistency and testing out our new technique! We’ll take each lesson day by day to see what needs to be done to take your game to the next level.
Let’s keep on improving! Whether we need to keep on working on technique, or all the while making minor adjustments, we will continue to do so by feeding balls and slowly incorporating movement to increase the challenge!
Let’s put our plan into action! Most likely, we will be focusing on technique, proper grip, and swing motion. These lessons will most likely be hand-fed balls to make sure we are putting the right things to practice, with precise and hands-on corrections to make sure we’re getting things right.
