Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIn the first lesson, I focus on building comfort and confidence on the court. We’ll start with the basics: proper grip, stance, and swing fundamentals, followed by fun, simple drills to introduce footwork and ball control. My goal is to make beginners feel at ease, motivated, and excited to continue learning.
Lesson 11+As players gain confidence, we’ll move toward advanced drills, more competitive play, and fine-tuning technique. We’ll work on consistency under pressure, tactical awareness, and improving mental strength. The goal is to make tennis enjoyable while equipping players with the skills to compete at a higher level or simply play with confidence for life.
Lesson 4-10By this stage, players can expect to strengthen their strokes, develop topspin, refine serves and returns, and start learning volleys and net play. We’ll also focus on strategy, point construction, and match play situations. My approach ensures steady progress while keeping the sessions engaging and fun.
Lesson 2-3We’ll build on the foundation by improving consistency with forehands and backhands, introducing rallying, and practicing serve basics. Students will also learn positioning, movement patterns, and how to keep the ball in play. These sessions are designed to help beginners start rallying with more control and confidence.
What you need to bringStudents should bring their own tennis racket (if they have one), comfortable sportswear, tennis shoes with non-marking soles, a water bottle, and a towel. If you don’t have a racket yet, let me know in advance I’ll provide one for the lesson.
