About your volleyball coach
Hello, my name is Trenton. I’ve been playing volleyball for 6 years. I have played in both men’s NVA & VLA professional indoor leagues here in the USA. Competing with and against the top level athletes in the states. I also play AVP beach volleyball. I currently coach at Houston skyline, head coaching a boys team. As well as coaching at thirdcoast beach club. I worked with Houston LOVB women’s team this spring in there season as a practice player. I work with all age athletes boys and girls.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst asking what your goals are as a volleyball player. I’m very big on ball control. So we will go through a lot of ball control drills and learning how to become familiar with the ball. I always say, you have to become best friends with the ball if you want to see success in your game.
Lesson 2-3Working a wide variety of fundamentals, on top of what you as a volleyball player want to work on.
Lesson 4-10Once we feel like we’ve become friends with the ball we will move on to higher level drills. This is where learning volleyball becomes super fun. Get to add in hitting, setting, serve receive, etc.
Lesson 11+Expanding our knowledge of the game and IQ. Volleyball is a fun intense and depending sport. So to make it a little easier on ourselves learning the game fully and expanding our knowledge and IQ becomes super important.
Youth players
Working with kidsI currently coach 10-18yr olds boy’s and girls at all levels. First making it a super safe and fun atmosphere to learn and grow. I know it can be hard as a young athlete to become better at the sport because we are afraid to make mistakes and look a little silly. But I encourage that in my coaching atmosphere. I think you have to make mistakes to learn and grow as an athlete.
Working with teenagersBy making it competitive and expanding their thoughts on the game and their play style. Once we have a base knowledge of the fundamentals of the game, we get to move on to all the super fun and hard things.
What you need to bringWater bottle, shoes for indoor, knee pads if you need them, sunglasses for beach private, Etc.
What I can bringI have beach balls for any sand practice.
