With almost seven years of guitar mastery under my fingers, I've been sharing my love for music through teaching for the past two years. I have years of live music and studio experience and can play in a wide variety of styles from pop to blues to funk to rock. My teaching focuses on giving beginning guitar students a solid foundation for their skills so they have the tools to effectively express themselves on their instrument. My goal with my students is to get them excited to pick up their guitar everyday.

Bio: Hey there! I am originally from the PNW in Oregon. I have accrued several instruments over the years since I joined the school band at age 10. I fell in love with the guitar at the age of 13 and spent my teen years learning my favorite songs on the instrument. By the time I was 17, I formed a rock band with friends where I took on the role of lead vocalist and rhythm guitar. I studied Audio Engineering at Lane Community College and applied the skills I learned to help produce/engineer his band's first record. He also recorded a solo LP where he sang, played all the instruments, and mixed the record himself. After years of musical experience, I entered the education field in 2021 while living in Portland, OR, and worked at Happy Valley Arts Academy. In pursuit of continuing a career in live music performance as well as education, I decided to take a leap and move to Nashville in July 2023. I have since played on Broadway, Zion Christian Ministries and local touring acts in the area. You can listen to some of my guitar playing through my band @ Silver Glass on all streaming platforms.

Originally from Wooster, Ohio, Richard earned a BA in Music and Sound Recording from Columbia College Chicago in 2000. He’s worked in the music industry as a backline technician and sound engineer for iconic artists like The Beach Boys and Jimmy Cliff. With over 12 years of teaching experience at the Old Town School of Folk Music and other institutions, Richard combines his deep technical expertise with a fun, student-focused approach. Now based in Nashville, TN, he offers personalized guitar lessons to help students of all levels develop their skills, confidence, and creativity. Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to refine your technique, Richard is ready to help you reach your musical goals.

Bio: Ryan Ladd is a musician, producer, and educator with more than a decade of experience helping musicians grow in both skill and confidence. Based in Nashville, Ryan has toured nationally as a bassist, performed on Grammy-winning records, and produced music in his home studio, Sound Harbor. As a coach, Ryan’s passion is encouraging and supporting creatives—whether that’s guiding a student through their first bass line, collaborating with bandmates on stage, or helping artists capture their best work in the studio. His teaching approach blends technical fundamentals with real-world musicality, drawing from years of experience in genres ranging from jazz and pop to gospel and rock. Ryan’s students benefit from his ability to break down complex musical concepts into clear, accessible steps. He believes in nurturing creativity, building confidence, and making sure every lesson is engaging and fun. With a strong foundation in performance and production, he helps students not only learn their instrument but also understand how to fit into a modern band or studio setting. When he’s not teaching, Ryan can be found on tour with artist David Phelps, producing new projects in Nashville, or collaborating with his wife, Grace Gonzalez, on her music career.
