Bio: I'm passionate about enhancing your golfing experience. My teaching techniques are designed to significantly improve your swing correction abilities on the course. This approach leads to lower scores, more enjoyment, and less frustration. I firmly believe that mastering the fundamentals is crucial for a consistent and repetitive swing. By working with me, you'll gain a comprehensive set of drills and philosophies that will directly translate into better golf.

Bio: I began playing golf after working at a summer camp in the late 90’s. I signed up to coach basketball, but the Bulls were in the Finals again, so by the time I got to camp, the only sport left to coach was golf, and I had zero playing or coaching experience in that sport. I had been an athlete all my life and a coach for almost a decade by that point, so I figured, “How hard can it be?” I found out quickly it was very hard, but also challenging in a way that kept me completely compelled to learn. I spent that summer learning the game from 10 year olds. We would drive over to the local course in rural Pennsylvania nearest the camp in the late afternoon, the sun getting low as we’re out there laughing and having a blast, usually at my expense. I vividly remember my mind being blown at the concept of hitting down, to make the ball go up. Fascinating! I got hooked, came home after camp, jumped into any and everything golf; Tiger Woods, Dave Pelz, Rick Smith, David Ledbetter, Golf Channel, etc., etc. I got pretty good quickly, played all over the place, signed up to attend a golf instructor school in 2002 and the rest is history. I’ve given thousands of lessons coast to coast, including Maui, Scottsdale, NYC, San Diego and even Tijuana. I have a deep knowledge of the game and swing mechanics, combined with a sincere passion to help anyone of any ability learn the game I have come to love so much. Bio: Julie Day is an instructor for The School of Golf Exclusively for Women and was nominated for LPGA Western Section Golf Professional of the Year in 1998. “I’ve been teaching for twenty years and I have found that the best way to teach is by keeping it simple! By breaking the swing down to a three-lever system it is easier for students to understand. A one-lever swing is chipping and putting, a two-lever swing is pitching, and a three-lever swing is the full swing. My specialty is taking a student and starting small with a one lever swing and slowly building on that until we develop the full swing.”

Bio: Alan has been employed at Steele Canyon since January 1998. He began working in outside guest services then moved into the golf shop in 2001 and handled member events, group outings, and corporate tournaments before becoming Head Golf Professional in 2013. His work experience continued to grow and he has now taken over as the General Manager at Steele Canyon. He is deeply rooted in the San Diego area graduating from Monte Vista High School and then UC San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Graphics. During his education, Alan also played golf at the collegiate level and maintained a 73.5 stroke average. He is a 2-time U.S. Amateur participant at Oakmont CC in 2003 and Merion CC in 2005, before turning Professional in 2006 and playing on the A.G. Spanos Tour for 1 year. After experiencing the mini-tour lifestyle and PGA Tour Qualifying School he then committed himself full-time to teaching and working at Steele Canyon. His participation in several USGA, SCGA, PGA, collegiate, and amateur events provides him with a strong foundation of tournament experience that he incorporates in his teachings. Bio: I played in college and professionally. I also worked in the golf industry for a decade as a fitter, so happy to discuss anything from just starting to seasoned player and everything that comes with it. Looking forward to helping you drop those scores!

Bio: I work at a country club and have been playing golf for several years, currently holding a handicap of 2. I compete in tournaments and love sharing my insights with others. I can break down simple concepts to help players adjust and improve their swings, always emphasizing the importance of returning to the basics. My goal is to make the game more accessible and enjoyable for everyone!

Bio: Sheri is one of the LPGA Top 50 Teachers and Golf Digest’s 50 Best Women Teachers in America. She has distinguished herself from others in San Diego by working as an instructor for the LPGA teaching education program for over 22 years and currently serves as Education Chair for LPGA Professionals. Sheri is known as the best female golf instructor in San Diego!

Bio: My name is Bill Barrett and I consider myself to be one of the luckiest people in the world! I have been playing golf since I was 5 years old. I had very successful amateur and collegiate careers before declaring professional status in 1981. I have enjoyed playing and teaching the game for over 47 years. My father, Boyd Barrett, taught golf for 50 years. My sister, Sharon Barrett, played on the LPGA Tour for 18 years and was a winner on the Tour. Following her retirement from the LPGA tour, Sharon taught golf for 13 years. I have been teaching golf for over 31 years. This gives me a firm understanding of what works and doesn’t work for my clients. Golf technology may change over the years; however, the basic fundamentals are key. Two components in a lesson is to keep it simple and make sure the person is having fun. I don’t know too many golf families that have more than 100 years of experience playing and teaching the game. I welcome an opportunity to make you a better player.

Bio: So often we get bogged down with too much thinking while trying to make a golf swing, usually this means too much thinking about things that we don't need to concern ourselves with. Tim tries to help his students focus on just the causes of why their swings break down and filter out everything else. Once they know the causes, it is much easier to develop a better image and a better golf swing.

Bio: Hi, I'm Jules, and golf has been a part of my life since I was a kid growing up in South Texas. Now at 28, the game feels like second nature to me. I'm truly passionate about golf – sometimes even a little obsessed! – and I love sharing that passion by helping others improve their game. I've always enjoyed giving tips to my friends, and recently helped my friend Tobias with a full lesson that made a real difference in his game. With a 6 handicap and years of experience playing varsity golf in high school, I have a solid understanding of the game and a patient approach to teaching.
