By 2018, I turned my passion into a profession, playing, producing, and teaching piano—and I’ve been fortunate to do so ever since. I believe music is one of the most powerful ways to express yourself, push yourself, connect with others, and find joy in every day. My goal is to help my students experience the joy of learning, creating music and discover how it can enrich their lives and communities in meaningful ways. I teach composition, music theory, chords, scales, sight-reading, and improvisation. Hello, my name is David. I live in Las Vegas, NV, and before that lived in New York City, Mexico City, Cuba and Reno, NV where I played and taught music professionally. I received my Bachelor's degree in Jazz from the University of Nevada, Reno. I have played drum set since I was 5 years old, and Afro-Cuban percussion for 11 years. I teach drum set, snare drum, congas and other latin percussion. I teach many different genres, such as rock, jazz, funk, marching, Latin, and many more. In my lessons, you can expect a strong focus on fundamentals, technique and rudiments, balanced with learning to groove, interact and improvise within the style of music you want to perform.
