Briana Esparza was the head coach of the Girls Varsity Golf team at Providence High School in Burbank, California, having joined the athletics department in July 2024. With a strong background in education and mental health treatment, Briana combines her passion for teaching with her love of golf to inspire young athletes. She has a strong ability to get anyone started in their journey with golf.

I have been playing golf since I was 19. I fell in love with the game when a friend brought me to a driving range and started hitting balls -- it was love at first sight. I started borrowing clubs from my friend and hitting the range whenever I could. After developing my skills, it was not long before I started playing tournaments. Like everyone does, I started with the high handicap groups and over time and with lots of practice, I earned my way into the low handicap group. For me, golf is 90% mental and 10% skills. My practice places heavy emphasis specifically on short-game because I feel this is where a golfer can minimize a lot of strokes, more than driving. Drive for show, putt for dough, as they say! In addition to giving professional lessons, I have three kids, all of whom I taught how to play golf. My oldest was a high school golfer, joined the SCPGA Junior Tour, and still playing. Looking forward to sharing my love of golf with you!
"Frederick was very nice and patient with us (2) as new students. I booked him for my boyfriend and I to learn, as we both have no previous experience on golf but wanted to learn . He taught us the basics like stands, posture and grip, and how to go forward with the swing. For our first lesson, we learned so much. Finished with what he suggests to do to keep practicing at home and what recommendations Would book again
