I used to only train high performance athletes. I am a “Top Gun” school: you are good and I will make you better. You have to work because I will pushed you beyond where you believe you can go.

The first lesson will consist of a proper warm up so that I can observe all shots of your game. Understanding your strengths and weaknesses allows me to create a plan to take your game to the next level. We will mix in fun games along with technical discussions regarding the shot or strategy that needs improvement.

Lesson 1: Transition into intermediate/advanced play with assessment and reinforcement of core skills. Players sharpen technique, grips, paddle angles, footwork, and recovery while testing consistency across serves, returns, drops, dinks, and volleys. Instruction emphasizes smart aggression, patience, tempo control, and transition timing. Drills include serve–return–drop cycles, a dink consistency challenge, paddle angle control, and mini-game assessments to evaluate decision-making. This session establishes a baseline for growth and reinforces fundamentals for competitive play.

WEAR Comfortable sports clothing. Tennis or pickleball shoes. BRING Fluids to hydrate. An open mind. An open heart. Your voice. A good attitude.

Well, if you have your favorite paddle, by all means, bring it - there's nothing like your favorite - otherwise, I'll provide one. Definitely bring plenty of hydration with you, especially during the hot months!! Comfortable clothing, as required by temperature. Additionally, with regards to clothing, great court shoes - with non marking soles - really make a difference in your play. Pickleball is regarded as a low impact sport , but it is an impact sport. You can get hurt. If you have any issues with mobility, -elbows, ankles, knees, etc- do make sure you bring the proper support so that you don't get hurt. Pickle balls do not hurt if they hit you. They sting a little and might make your skin red, but I've never seen anyone get bruised by a pickle ball. (I have seen people get bruised by a tennis ball, but never with a pickle ball). Nonetheless, the one thing that can do damage is if it hits you in the eye, especially if you wear contact lenses. Hence, it is important you wear comfortable eyeglasses, preferably impact resistant ones, available at any sporting goods store. Prescription eyeglasses, including sunglasses, are a great idea to avoid getting hurt in the eyes, too. Above all, bring enthusiasm and a positive attitude!

When I work with kids, my sole focus is on the child having fun! That is the most important part of playing pickleball. We will play fun games and drills while also having discussions on how to improve their gameplay. Depending on the skill of the child, the discussions and practice will vary to fit their needs.
