my first lesson is all about setting the foundation. I start by getting to know the players and building a positive, focused environment. We’ll begin with simple warm-ups and ball-handling to see everyone’s skill level, then move into fundamental drills like dribbling, passing, footwork, and shooting. I focus on effort, discipline, and teamwork from day one. My goal in the first session is not just to teach skills, but to build confidence, good habits, and a love for the game.
From lesson 11 and beyond, players can expect more advanced skill development and game application. Sessions will focus on refining shooting, ball-handling under pressure, and making quick decisions during play. Players will work on reading defenses, improving basketball IQ, and understanding offensive and defensive concepts. Drills will become more competitive and game-like to help players perform with confidence. The goal is continued growth, consistency, and helping each player reach their full potential on the court.
From lessons 4–10, players will continue strengthening their fundamentals while applying them in more game-like situations. We will focus on improving ball handling, shooting consistency, footwork, and finishing around the basket. Players will also learn how to move without the ball, proper spacing, and basic defensive positioning. As the lessons progress, we’ll introduce combination drills, decision-making, and competitive exercises. The goal is to build confidence, improve basketball IQ, and help players apply their skills naturally during real play.
From the second and third lessons, beginners can expect to start building consistency and confidence with the fundamentals. In the second lesson, we’ll continue working on ball-handling, passing, and shooting while introducing more movement drills like dribbling while changing direction, proper footwork, and basic finishing around the rim. The focus will be on control, balance, and understanding the game at a simple level. By the third lesson, players will begin putting those skills together. We’ll work on game-like drills, simple decision making, and basic offensive and defensive concepts. I also like to add competitive drills so players can start applying what they learned while having fun. The goal is steady improvement, building confidence, and helping players feel more comfortable on the court each session.
